my flight attendant training school

on the last day when my trainers said "see you in the sky!", I cried.
I used to think they are bitches.
They were like,
"Carol, you just look ugly without the eye shadow.
...Mind the way you walk! would you please go out and walk back in again?
...SMILE! if you don't like to smile, this job is not suitable for you!
...What's wrong with your hair?
...There's a sticker under your shoe!
...I will let all the trainers know you are late today!
...Did you put on your perfume?
...Your hands are too dry..."
on the last days i know those were all acting.
they're playing harsh in order to fit us in the job as quick as possible.

on the day i decided to take this job, i also cried,
because so many of my friends are working in Central,
with a Bright Bright career path ahead.
and i end up in the service industry. i felt so lost.

i was silly.
yes, i collect dirty trays and i clean the toilet.
but i am also the one using the fire extinguisher, the bandage,
the handcuff and the diplomatic strategies.
so i am carol the cleaner, the waitress, the nurse,
the firefighter, the policewoman and the diplomat at the same time.
whatever my role is, i will play it professionally.
with this in mind i will be proud and humble all the way through.
after 5 weeks i am in love with this industry,
there are so many great people working here.
i love the tasks, i love traveling,
and i know this passion will bring me forward.
